On Monday March 28, the Association for Social Media and Higher Education will host a Blog Talk Radio session titled Higher Educationist’s Guide to Wikipedia from 3:30 to 4 p.m. EST.

The session will feature LiAnna Davis, a communications associate at the Wikimedia Foundation’s Public Policy Initiative, and Ryan Dellolio, a web program manager at George Washington University and Wikipedia contributor.

LiAnna and Ryan will address several questions, including:

  1. Is it appropriate for colleges and universities to edit their own Wikipedia pages?
  2. Should professors be discouraging their students from citing Wikipedia in their papers?
  3. What is the Wikimedia Foundation’s Public Policy Initiative, and why should higher education professionals know about it?
  4. Is Wikipedia reliable?
