On Monday March 28, the Association for Social Media and Higher Education will host a Blog Talk Radio session titled Higher Educationist’s Guide to Wikipedia from 3:30 to 4 p.m. EST.
The session will feature LiAnna Davis, a communications associate at the Wikimedia Foundation’s Public Policy Initiative, and Ryan Dellolio, a web program manager at George Washington University and Wikipedia contributor.
LiAnna and Ryan will address several questions, including:
- Is it appropriate for colleges and universities to edit their own Wikipedia pages?
- Should professors be discouraging their students from citing Wikipedia in their papers?
- What is the Wikimedia Foundation’s Public Policy Initiative, and why should higher education professionals know about it?
- Is Wikipedia reliable?
